hey people. remember to include your own names when you post. cos no one knows who's actually posting.

well, as we were writing the card on saturday, God reminded me of the story of the prodigal son. yes, we all know that desmond left, it has somehow affected us, but our walk with God should not be swayed by that. God reminded me, that He will always be like the father, waiting everyday for His son to come back home.

well now lets study more in depth into that story. in Jewish custom, the inheritance between two sons was this way: the older son would get two-thirds, the younger son get one-third. so the father decided to give the younger's son share to him. so one-third of his possessions is gone. the rest now belongs to the older son while the father owns nothing. God spoke to me very clearly, that we are the older son, always serving, obeying God faithfully. then when the younger son returned, the father took a calf and killed it and held a celebration. why then would the older brother be angry? he should be happy that his brother came back. but he became angry because the father took the older son's calf. by right, the calf already belonged to the older bro. so the older brother became angry because something was taken away from him just because his younger brother returned back home.

how can this be applied? God spoke to me, for a soul to return back to God, God will take something (a calf) away from us. are we willing to pay the price of that something? so that we can see a soul return back to God? i know im not perfect, but lets keep persevering and trying. we'll see desmond come back =)

pray that you all will continue to stand strong. and breakthrough to new levels of faith.
